About Phil

I've called Western Washington home since 2017, spending eight-plus years at Amazon in product, business, and operations leadership roles, most recently running growth strategy for its logistics and transportation businesses. Before Amazon, I started my career as an actuary, and I hold an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.

I'm drawn to entrepreneurship because I want the ownership, creativity, and measured risk-taking that comes with building something tangible and running it myself. I do my best work, and I'm happiest, when I own both the successes and the mistakes.

I care about building sustainable growth through excellent customer experience and by investing in the people who make a business run, not by cutting corners on quality or labor to prop up margins.

Outside of work, I'm usually on a golf course (I'm a member at West Seattle Golf Club), growing tropical houseplants, or in the woodshop.
